BOARD OF DEACONS
We do a lot because we really do care!

The Deacons are the loving arm of the church serving the congregation, community and the world. You are invited to become a part of our ministry. You do not need to be a member or currently serving on the board.  For more info, contact Moderator Kerri Van

Worry Worms - New Ministry - Join Us!

We are excited to announce a new ministry of the Deacons: Worry Worms. Worry Worms are cute and colorful crochet worms that are meant to bring joy and comfort to people who are going through hard times. They are based on the Random Acts of Crochet Kindness project, which aims to spread kindness and happiness through handmade gifts. We will be making and distributing Worry Worms to people who need a hug, a smile, or a reminder that they are not alone.

If you want to be part of this ministry, you can help us by crocheting Worry Worms, donating yarn or supplies, or suggesting people who would appreciate receiving a Worry Worm. To get involved, please contact the Moderator of the Deacons, Kerri Van. She will provide you with the instructions and patterns for making Worry Worms, as well as other details. Let's make a difference in our community with our Worry Worms!

Fifth Sunday Mission - July 30, 2023

Every time there is a month with a fifth Sunday in it, we have a special opportunity to support a nonprofit or mission that is doing God's work in the world. Our board of deacons selects a worthy cause and invites us to contribute in various ways.

Our next Fifth Sunday mission will be for July 30 and we are collecting cereal for Blessed Hope Church. Blessed Hope Church is a local congregation that serves low-income families and individuals in our community. They provide food, clothing, counseling, and spiritual guidance to those in need. One of their programs is a breakfast ministry that offers a nutritious meal and a warm welcome to anyone who comes to their door.

You can help by bringing boxes of cereal to the church on or before July 30 and placing them in the designated bins. Your generosity will make a difference in the lives of many people who are hungry and hurting. Thank you for supporting our Fifth Sunday mission and Blessed Hope Church. Together, we can share God's love and grace with our neighbors. 🙏
