BOARD OF DEACONS
The ministry of deacon, as set forth in Scripture, is one of compassion, witness, and service, sharing in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for the poor, the hungry, the sick, the lost, the friendless, the oppressed, those burdened by unjust policies or structures, or anyone in distress. Persons of spiritual character, honest repute, exemplary lives, brotherly and sisterly love, sincere compassion, and sound judgment should be chosen for this ministry. (The PC(USA) Book of Order. The Board of Deacons, in their role as caregivers, serve not only our congregation but also the wider community. They embody the love of Jesus Christ, reaching out through direct and indirect contact, phone calls, visits, cards, food, fellowship, and fostering a sense of belonging. They extend their care to those grieving, lonely, hungry, ill, or recovering and warmly invite others to join them in their ministries. Acting with love, the Deacons shoulder the burdens of others, sharing their gifts of service across a spectrum of ministries. They are more than just the hands and heart of the church. They are its soul, breathing life and love into everything they touch. As Presbyterian Deacons, their mission is a testament to their faith and commitment to serving others.
The Deacons are the loving arm of the church serving the congregation, community and the world. You are invited to become a part of our ministry. You do not need to be a member or currently serving on the board. For more info, contact Moderator Kerri Van
